The first thing you might notice about this entry is the the number and variety of coding failures. I normally post only using the Rich Text Editor, which does all the tricky little formatting bits for me, but, for some strange reason, my RTE (and saved draft!) disappeared on Friday, and hasn't reappeared since. I've been working with some very nice tech support people on this, but we haven't come up with a solution yet. So, until then, please forgive any especially derpy HTML errors that I make while I (re-)learn to code the old-fashioned way.

First up, a meme that I was tagged in a few days ago... )

Next up, another meme, the rules of which are thus:
Comment to this post, and I will list five things I associate with you. They might make sense or they might be totally random. Then post that list, with your commentary, to your LJ (or just add a reply back to me). Other people (including me) can get lists from you, and the meme merrily perpetuates itself.
Feel free to join in!
I got:Santa Rosa, Renly/Loras, library science, Tolkien, and Age of Sail... )

I've got two more memes, a fandom one and a pairing one this time, still to post but as they both require much tricky coding (embedding images, hiding links behind text, etc.) that I'm going to save myself the headache and wait for my RTE to reappear.

A few other fandom bits and bobs:
An extremely interesting piece of Hobbit casting news... )

On the Temeraire front, I am becoming increasingly fond of Jane Roland... )

In other Temeraire news, I am about to commit fanfic... )

In RL news, my first semester at Cal is rapidly drawing to a close (plus weird dreams!)... )

Soo..a few of you might be wondering where I am. I'm still in the aether of Teh Interwebz, never fear. But I've had some serious trouble with LJ recently. Namely, it's become pretty much impossible for me to post anything since the big update a couple of weeks ago. The RTE still refuses to show up on my "Post an Entry" page, which is a big problem, as what I've been trying to post for the past few weeks would entail A LOT of coding. Also, every time I lose my mind and try to just enter in all the HTML myself, the autosave function seems to eat whatever I'd just written, so either I devote almost a few hours that I don't have to coding, or I wait. Not to mention, the auto-complete function for entering tags seems kaput, too. So I'm holding off on that until the RTE problem is resolved.

But word on the street is that, if you post something on DreamWidth and copy/paste it to LJ, all the coding will remain intact. Does anybody know if this is true? Untrue? Bueller? Bueller?

Neither, sadly. XD Too shy to make comments, not mainstream enough to recieve them.

Who introduced me? Nobody, really. I read a lot of fanfiction, and a couple of authoresses I really like blog on here, so I guess that counts as my introduction.

As for why, I have three journals: Gaia, which was my first blog, but is now a playground for what passes for my fashion sense. My main blog for many years was Quizilla, despite its many faults. That was where I posted most of my literary ramblings. I started Livejournal as a place to dump all my RL-related thoughts, but its comparative ease and clarity of use has made it my dominant journal, especially now that Quizilla has decided to up the ease-of-use ante from "mildly frustrating" to "complete cessation of any concievable usefullness". Yes, I'm bitter.
