Secret Santa!!! And other nice things!

Well, today has been A Fucking Day, hasn't it?

To distract myself, and hopefully y'all, from all of the *yikes* going on in the world today, plz to accept this humble gift of holiday squee, only, what, 3 weeks late? :D

I took part in ikel89's Secret Santa exchange this year, and although I've had marvellous fun with exchanging packages in years past, this year I opted to exchange letters instead, due to about equal parts low energy/money is A Thing/COVID concerns/enjoying the CHALLENGE of crafting a well-put-together Santa Letter. Our illustrious Postmistress matched me with egelantier, whose wonderful letter-plus-shinies arrived well in time for the winter holidays. Why am I just now getting around to posting it in January, you may ask? Sshhhhhh, I say. (Well, in actuality the spoons were low and work has been a bit eeeeesh, but when has that *not* been the case?) XD

egelantier's letter-plus-shinies (which I keep wanting to call a package, but given the package/letter distinction this year, that feels Inaccurate somehow) was clearly crafted with thought and care, and made me smile like a goddamn loon for the rest of the day.

Even though the world seems like a terrifying and shitty place sometimes, there's things like this to make me remember that everything is not The Worst Forever. I will not say the day is done, nor bid the stars farewell, etc. etc. etc.

Thank you egelantier, and thank you, lady_peony, for making my COVID Christmas(/Yule) season a little less lonely! I hope 2021 brings wonderful things for both of you.
